José joined Matheson Fast Freight as Vice President in May, 2009. He brings over thirty years of experience in operational management, quality improvement, contact center administration, and customer experience development, planning, implementation, and management.
Mr. Miranda has held top level positions in such Fortune 500 companies as FPL Group, AT&T/BellSouth, Cendant Corporation, DIRECTV, IAC/Interactive, and The Washington Post. Among his accomplishments are the development of queuing models to manage and service the call centers of FPL Group, participation in the Modified Final Judgment (the breakup of AT&T and the Bell System), launch and opening of offices worldwide for Interval International (a former Cendant company), development and implementation of a customer lifecycle management strategy for DIRECTV Latin America (a division of DIRECTV) that led to significant reductions in customer turnover, opening of Precision Response Corporation’s (a division of IAC/Interactive) first contact center in Latin America, operational and financial turnaround of Supra Telecom (a regional telecommunications provider), and the creation of a special education program for gifted children for Kaplan Virtual Education (a division of The Washington Post).
From an educational perspective José has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, a Master of Science in Management Science, and a Post Graduate Certificate of Engineering in Occupational Safety and Health, all obtained at the University of Miami (Florida). In addition, he also has certification from Villanova University (Pennsylvania) as a Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Six Sigma, and Master Six Sigma.
