As President and Chief Executive Officer of the Matheson Companies, Mark’s vision and leadership has championed a reputation of delivering the best value and the best possible customer service in the transportation and logistics industry. Mark has spearheaded continuous process improvements across all business units, delivering outstanding fiscal planning and control. He initiated a new business unit providing terminal underwing operations and ground handling services which is employed by parcel delivery clients such as FedEx, DHL and UPS.
As a leading early adopter using Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV), and a major contributor to its largest customer USPS, reach their sustainability goal of reducing diesel use by 20% by the year 2020, Mark’s vision is to expand the natural gas highway. In the long-term, he has developed strategies, partnerships and investments that support a sustainable industry and a cleaner environment. In the short term, Matheson has successfully begun moving from a diesel to an LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) fleet.
Mark inherited his unrelenting focus on quality and efficiency, combined with a genuine concern and commitment for all who work for him, from his parents. These attributes are the hallmark of Marks’ career. Mark maximizes management by ‘walking around’ to champion, energize, and unify all stakeholders.
Prior to being named President and CEO of Matheson Companies in 2008, Mark has been given various operational roles in his parent’s family owned business. Mark studied Business Administration at Menlo College. He lives in Sacramento, California, with his wife and children who are also contributing to Matheson’s success.

COO and General Counsel, Matheson Companies
Chuck is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, general operational activities, and legal matters for the Matheson Companies. In this role, he works closely with the CEO to cascade the organization’s mission and strategy, to drive performance measures and provide accountability throughout the company. With the aim of creating maximum value for the company's stakeholders, Chuck devises and implements, planning, policies and processes to prioritize customer, employee and organizational requirements.
Formerly, Chuck is an accomplished trial attorney, mediator and advisor to mid-size corporations, boards of directors and principals of family-owned businesses concerning both operational, risk management and civil litigation matters. He brings an extensive background in contracts, mediation and litigation — as well as employment law and alternative dispute resolution. Chuck possesses strong leadership skills, an excellent reputation for ethical professional conduct, and has the ability to develop innovative resolution options. He is currently a member of the San Diego and Los Angeles Bar Associations in California.
Chuck, a licensed private pilot, and an avid sailboat racer, likes to unwind by fly fishing. He lives in Sacramento, with his wife Carol, and are very proud of their three children who are currently completing their undergrad and/or graduate degrees and pursuing their dreams.

SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Chief Human Resource Officer, Matheson Companies
Shirley strategizes and develops human resource programs aimed at growth, leadership capabilities and overall organizational performance for Matheson Companies. She is responsible for leading organizational strategy, promoting operational effectiveness, and elevating team performance through innovative leadership.
As the leader of the company's HR organization, Shirley aligned the HR function with the company's overall business strategy. She is leading the development of the company's people strategy to support talent by highlighting the skills and capabilities that employees need to be innovative in today’s technology driven environment. Shirley promotes organizational transformation through a culture of participation, inclusion and collaboration, to drive exponential business value for customers, employees and stakeholders.
Shirley is a 20 year HR veteran and has extensive experience leading organizational transformations, driving large scale-growth, talent acquisition, leadership development and succession planning. Prior to her role at Matheson, Shirley was Vice President of HR at Pearson VUE, a Global HR Business Leader supporting AMEA, APAC, North and Central America businesses made up of 3500+ employees and 5000+ sites. She was responsible to for HR strategies, talent acquisition, retention, development, and overall human resource programs and practices. Shirley has also held leadership positions with Sutter Health and Teleplan companies.
Shirley received her Master of Art degree in HR and Industrial Relations, from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and her MBA from Nova Southeastern University. She resides in Folsom, and relishes spending time with her two granddaughters.

Vice President, Corporate Operations, and Risk & Safety Director,Matheson Companies
Joshua provides a variety of management support across the organization’s business units, with an emphasis on planning, performance management, and operational efficiency and effectiveness. He coordinates and leads on a number of activities that are directly under the responsibility of the Chief Operating Officer, as well as serves as Risk & Safety Director, providing oversight of Matheson’s risk and safety program, covering measures to support and lead a variety of initiatives aimed at increasing organizational safety.
Joshua employs exceptional analytical skills, and independent judgement. He communicates effectively across all organizational levels, and with staff in the full spectrum of procedural roles. He ensures that policies and procedures are reviewed, updated, modified and complied with on a continual basis.
Joshua graduated from Simpson University with a Bachelor in Business Administration. He lives in Wilton, and enjoys hunting, fishing, archery and spending time with his family and fiancée.

Vice President, Information Technology and Vice President, Fleet Maintenance, Matheson Companies
Debra White, Vice President Information Technology, is a recognized technology leader known for crafting strategic vision to achieve business goals. She leads a best in class, innovative, robust and secure information technology infrastructure. Debra’s responsibilities encompass strategic technology issues to include governance and policy, R&D, on and off-site data centers and management reporting capabilities critical to the success of company performance and business initiatives.
Debra‘s expanded role includes the position of Vice President of Fleet Maintenance, with oversight of fleet operations servicing Matheson’s shops and terminals nationwide. With a reputation for judicious use of resources – resulting in cost containment, Debra optimized inventory management and equipment procurement, adapting technology for maximum fuel economy, and supports the company’s growing leadership position in the natural gas vehicle industry.
Debra has over 30 years in technology leadership roles. Prior to joining Matheson, Debra was Director Information Technology Operations for Moore Corporation, managing technology infrastructure, cross functional teams and leading its technical support call center servicing 8000 users. As Director Information Technology at Michigan Catholic Conference, Debra led overall strategic planning, and execution of all IT functions servicing seven Dioceses of Michigan.
Debra studied Computer Science and Business Administration at Lansing Community College and Western Michigan University. She holds technology certifications, and completed SHRM-PHR certification coursework. Debra also serves on Spireon’s Customer Advisory Board.
Debra is an avid boater and enjoys traveling. She lives in Fair Oaks and adores spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Vice President, Operational Analysis, Matheson Companies
Lauren provides analysis support across the organization’s business units. She drives specific operational projects by identifying, distinguishing, and analyzing multiple components of a problem and brings it to a conclusion through quantitative skills. She prepares, and delivers insights and recommendations based on her analysis.
Lauren graduated from Biola University, with a degree in Intercultural Studies. She lives in Wilton, and likes to spend time with family and friends, travel to new places, and meet interesting people.
